Pint-sized orange wonder Jersey Shore star Snooki is trying to lose weight after downing too many margaritas and munchies. She’s on a “cookie diet” sold by a Dr. Siegal, who looks like he could use some magic cookies himself. Snooki wants to lose 10 pounds off her 4’9″ allegedly 110 pound frame. She admits in a promotional video from US Weekly (above) that she has been drinking too much, but then claims she loves Miami because you can have a drink at 10:00 in the morning when that same behavior would have you branded an alcoholic in New Jersey.
Jersey Shore guidette Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi doesn’t like what she sees in the mirror.
“I used to be fit,” she tells UsMagazine.com. “Now I look at myself, and I’m like, What the hell happened?”

So the MTV reality star, 22, is now on Dr. Siegal’s cookie diet.
On the diet, she eats only one meal a day (usually chicken) — and six cookies, each of which suppresses hunger. The six cookies — which contain beef and milk protein — each contain about 11 grams of carbohydrates and 90 calories.
The biggest challenge so far? No binge drinking!
“If I go out I am going to have a drink, but I am not going to have 10 drinks like I usually would,” she says.
The 4’9″ star’s ultimate goal: “I would like be back to 100 lbs; I’m 110 right now.”

Dr. Seigel pointed out that 10 pounds makes a big difference on someone as short as Snooki. I’m really reporting on this so I can rip on this ridiculous diet. You will lose weight if you eat less calories than you take in. It’s a simple concept made complicated by so many options and gimmicks. These cookies are 90 calories. Yesterday I looked up the calorie content in Pillsbury cookies, the kind made from the refrigerated dough, and they’re about 65-70 calories each. (I had a couple and they were awesome.) So instead of eating these three expensive cookies, which cost $4.28 “per replaced meal” according to the website, you could eat 3 Pillsbury cookies for breakfast, three for lunch, and save calories and money. (If you want to eat cookies instead of real meals.)
Sure these diet cookies supposedly have protein and beef in them, which you can replace for less calories with some actual lean protein like a package of deli turkey for $3. I just hate diet schemes that involve processed food. It’s not good for your body and won’t help you keep the weight off. I should be careful not to talk crap about this diet, though. Kim Kardashian is being sued by Dr. Seigel for calling the diet “unhealthy” after she issued him a cease and desist for claiming she followed the diet.
Of course we can’t expect Snooki to know what’s good for her body. She paints herself a rusty shade of greasy orange and loves the fact that it’s socially acceptable to drink at 10:00 am.
